Wave curtain tracks

A wave curtain hangs in even, soft S-shaped folds, spaced by a cord that links the gliders. The look is only as good as the track: it has to be straight, level and cut to the right length. That part is our job.

What makes wave work

With a wave heading, every fold is the same depth because the gliders are linked at a fixed spacing. If the track dips, the folds open up. If it is cut too short, the curtains won't stack clear of the glass. We level each run along its whole length and size it so the stack sits where you want it.

Topps trained on Silent Gliss fitting at their Broadstairs training centre. We fit Silent Gliss wave systems and slim ceiling tracks such as Metroflat, which we have installed in homes from London to Oxfordshire.

Where wave suits

  • Ceiling-fixed runs from wall to wall, for a floor-to-ceiling look.
  • Recessed tracks hidden in a ceiling slot or pelmet.
  • Bay windows, within the bend limits of the system.
  • Motorised runs, where wave and motor work very well together.

Working with your curtain maker

Wave curtains need a matching heading tape and the right fullness. We work alongside curtain makers and interior designers every week, and can send them the finished track length and stack measurements so the curtains fit first time.

“He did not try to sell us new tracks but fixed the ones we had.”

Wave curtain tracks: common questions

Can my existing curtains be converted to wave?

Often, yes. A curtain maker can re-head them with wave tape, provided there is enough fabric for the fullness wave needs. We can measure for this at the same visit.

What is stack-back?

The width the curtains take up when fully open. On a wave track it's predictable, so we plan the track length to let the stack sit beside the window rather than over it.

Is wave suitable for heavy curtains?

Yes, on the right track and with the right number of brackets. Tell us about the fabric and lining and we'll specify the system to match.
